It Just Makes Me Feel Uncomfortable,...

I like going to Museums, but seeing a stuffed and mounted Animal in a Museum,or anywhere else for that matter, makes Me feel uncomfortable.Even if the Animal Dies of Natural Causes. To Me, it seems rather disrespectful and undignified to gut out an Animal,wrap the Animals Fur or Skin around something Artificial,and put it on Display. I dont mind seeing Fossils on display in a Museum though since Fossilization is a Natural Proccess that takes Millions of Years or at least tens or hundreds of Thousends of Years.

Has anyone seen the trailer for "Raw For 30 Days"? It's a documentary about six people, who normally eat fast food, who decide to go 100% raw for a month. It features interviews with doctors, experts, and raw foodists including Gabriel Cousens, David Wolfe, and Woody Harrelson.

I am new to raw foods and very interested in hearing from others who are raw foodists and people who are trying to change their lives for the better. Many people in my family have diabetes and I have changed my diet and gone raw to prevent myself from also getting diabetes.

vegetarian - severe reaction.

I recently got a second job washing dishes for the sake of
saving some $.
I live in the facist-christian-bumper-sticker capital of the world,
and to call nearly everyone here "frighteningly sheltered" would
be the most eloquent, polite understatement I've ever made.

I get a free meal every shift and recently ordered a large salad and fries for lunch.

what resulted was a complete meltdown by the girl who was taking my order
about how unhealthy and plain crazy I am for not eating meat, and combining
salad with fries.

she apparently had only heard about my being vegetarian, as I did not include
a mention of that fact in my order.

this is just one of many examples of people somehow confusing my dietary habits
with a massive, ominous, militant declaration of intent to undermine the very fabric
of everything held dear by respectable people.

or so it would seem.

nothing else about me (which has always been seen as generally weird around here)
has ever solicited such feverish, rude, in-your-face reactions from anyone... ever.

I have been a vegetarian for 11 years and was fortunate enough to work in the natural
foods industry for 8 years (damn I miss it) so Im not at all phased by the premise of such
objections, but I wanted to ask your opinions about the place that such a passionate aversion
might come from...
why do you think it is that people are so hair-trigger sensitive about this?

in my personal opinion, I believe that eveyone has at some point
either thought about how grisly the meat idea is and / or felt guilty
about enjoying sausage, bacon and cheeseburgers because
they are uncomfortable with their weight.

I know that many here live in the west and in more advanced societies than I
so this may seem appalling to you, and I do not want to start a flame pit
but I could use some additional perspective on this.

is it really too much to beg plead and ask
that she simply not wear a make-up mask ?!
her face all natural pure and clean
no toxic poison if you know what i mean
make-up is an obstruction, an intimacy block
her face must be kissed, does that come as a shock ?!
she never smoked and never will
she's gentle not violent, she doesn't kill
so she's vegan of curse, pure vegetarian
a valorous virtuous humanitarian
she's healthy & naturally hygienic as well
no domestic-animals filthy stinking hell
she lets wild animals remain free in nature
she's balanced both childlike and wisely mature
her brain is brilliant, her body is beauty
her virtue is valiant, her visage a cutie
her nose nicely shaped little feminine slope
perfectly pretty, she says "yep" not "nope"
when i suggest any smart course of action
her humble receptivity is part of her attraction
she's irresistably hot, but diseased she's not
she's doesn't let just anyone into the melting pot
as self-disciplined Yogini she can sublimate
her various energies focus up & in to meditate
but when she meets the right sacred holy man
she knows how to share Love, she may and she can

and living organic vegan foods. {but cooked vegan foods and humans who eat any vegan foods be they raw, living or somehow cooked or bought/acquired prepared and ready to eat, as long as it's vegan, is/are allowed; however, folks are welcome to treat everyone to fresh sprouts, fresh veg juices, fresh wheat grass juice, etc to convincingly draw vegans to gravitate toward more higher percentages of raw living organic vegan foods.}

p.s. or pregnant maidens, or damsels who certainly surely know they wanna have babies can move in there?

i think emphasis on babies toddlers and children for this house b/c limited size of land. [maybe someday when hundreds acres then room for everybody.]
and becuase childless healthy adults be they single or couples can camp outdoors just fine;
but folks with babies really need indoors space, housing, warm and legal to keep their babies/children.

Hi everybody,
I'm a new member of Tribe. I've been vegan for 2 years and I don't know anybody who is vegan or vegetarian. Maybe that's because Oklahoma is a "beef state". It's great to have a tribe for vegetarian singles to share experiences and ideas and with luck to meet somebody special. I was dating a meat-eating girl, and man!!! that didn't work.

* Nourishing Vegetarian Soups *

The weather is cold, and that calls for warm, nourishing soup! While miso soup is the fastest to make, it doesn't have that wonderful aroma and cozy feeling of a hearty bowl of soup. Still, when time is tight, miso soup is as tasty and healthful as any soup there is. For two servings, in a small pot, boil two cups of water. When it's boiling, turn off the heat and add one to two tablespoons of miso paste, depending on how strong you want the flavor to be (miso is sold in the refrigerated section of natural food stores and most supermarkets.). Stir thoroughly to dissolve. Optional additions include chopped green onion (scallions) or sliced red or yellow onion, small cubes of fresh tofu, and any other vegetables you like. These additions should be added to the boiling water before the miso is added.

Recently, I discovered another fairly quick soup that's also delicious: Garbanzo Bean & Tomato Soup from Jennifer Raymond's The Peaceful Palate. Using canned organic tomatoes makes the preparation even faster. Two cups of chopped cabbage is less than one quarter of a large head, so any leftover chunks of cabbage from
another meal are perfect for this. Green cabbage makes a prettier soup, but red cabbage works just as well. You can even substitute dried parsley for the fresh. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Garbanzo Bean & Tomato Soup

2 teaspoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 cup chopped tomatoes, fresh or canned
2 cups cabbage, chopped
1 potato, diced (peel first if using a russet potato)
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
4 cups water or vegetable stock
One 15-ounce can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt

Heat the oil in a large pot and sauté the onion until soft, about 3-5 minutes. Add the garlic, tomatoes, cabbage, potato, parsley, water or stock, garbanzo beans, paprika, and black pepper. Simmer until the potato and cabbage are tender, about 15 minutes. Ladle approximately 3 cups of the soup into a blender. Starting on a low speed, blend until smooth, making sure to hold the lid on tightly. Return the blended soup to the pot and stir to mix, adding salt to taste.
